Moth Dal also also refered to as matki, may have not been as popular as other lentils, but they are now being recognised for their remarkable nutritive value. Consumption of matki dal defends the body against bacteria, fungi and viruses. Our Moth Dal is unpolished and retains its natural fibre in the form of a husk attached to it, which is otherwise lost in polished dals making it less nutritive. The Right Tip-
Moth Dal is best enjoyed as a one pot meal. Soak the dal for 3-4 hours before cooking and in a pressure cooker add the Moth Dal, your choice of veggies, spices and cook for 4-5 whistles or until tender. Give it tadka, cover and let it simmer for 10 mins, garnish with chopped coriander and serve with steam rice, naan or roti.
