Rajma Chitra is a spekled variety of Rajma and is subtly different in taste as compared to Rajma Red. Rajma beans are one the richest plant-based sources of protein, sometimes referred to as 'poor man’s meat'. Like most legumes, rajma are a good source of several vitamins and minerals, such as molybdenum, folate, iron, copper, manganese, potassium, and vitamin K1.

The Right Tip-
Rajma Chawal is a staple dish in most North Indian household. Rajma requires to be soaked overnight and cooked for a minimum of 7-8 whistles in a presure cooker. A tip that helps cook it faster is add a teaspoon of baking soda, it makes the Rajma cook faster and tender.
